Hard game for Manta who are just 2 points over the relegation zone with 3 rounds to go but they must pick themselves and take some points here to put Imbabura at safe distance behind. Not great that Armando Osma will have to do without 3 suspended players - Elio Lastra, Bolívar Gómez and Mario Quintana but Manta are digging hard in the last month to keep their place in Serie A for another season, beated solid opponents as Barcelona and El Nacional, tied LDU to 0-0 in the last home game, must be sorry for the defeat at Imbabura because wasting 2-0 lead after half an hour but playing away on high altitude is never easy for them.
Emelec are quite tough opponent for any team but the fact they play for nothing can't be changed, already thinking about the final with Deportivo Quito and dropped a bit in form with 2 draws and 1 loss in last 3 rounds. Not planning changes yet in the lineup but coach Juan Ramón Carrasco declared he is taking the remaining games as chance to test things and fix errors before the final so Emelec won't be chasing wins on 100%.
This is just a speculation but it won't be a surprise Emelec to prefer Manta than Imbabura to stay in Serie A, visiting another team from the coast not far from Guayaquil is always better (and we can see it in the h2h stats) than couple of long trips to Ibarra high in the mountain that can cost more lost points next year.
