The game is official season presentation of Alianza Lima on their stadium and last test before Copa Libertadores starting at Libertad next Thursday. Los blanquiazules were left by some players - most notable Fleitas in defense and the topscorer Ovelar, bringing new names - the Uruguayans Jonathan Charquero and Walter Ibanez, Edson Aubert (Melgar), Paulo Albarracin (Sport Boys) and the couple most valubale signings Giancarlo Carmona (returning in Peru from San Lorenzo, it will be interesting as he is former player of the big enemy Universitario) and Fernando Meneses (Universidad Catolica). The friendlies so far didn't give some great results so it will be important to get a good result here right before the start of the official fixtures. The coach Soto will give time to all players dividing the team in 2 elevens, one playing in the first half and the other after the break.
Cerro ended Uruguayan Apertura on 7th place (not great at all as except the very few top teams the level of the rest is quite low), did great until some moment but finishing in very poor manner with 0-1-4 in last 5 rounds. Last night Cerro played with Danubio for Copa celeste, lost 1-4 using mostly reserves and youngsters because the main team goes to Lima but at least 2 regulars (Oscar Morales and Eduardo Mieres) are not making the trip to Peru as they played with Danubio. So Cerro won't be in maximum possible version.
Taking the bet as Alianza are better and clearly bigger team that can't be compared at all as background with Cerro, also playing at home a game that has much meaning to them than to Cerro.
