Germany has locked up Group E. Germany first and Ivory Coast second was -3000. Ivory Coast was -10000 to qualify. Ecuador was +240 and Curaçao was +1600. Germany is safe. Ecuador carries the pressure.

Group F remains a race for first. The Netherlands was -310, Japan +275 and Sweden +1800. Netherlands and Japan were each -100000 to qualify, while Sweden was -2000. First place will reshape the first knockout assignment.

Groups G through I: Stronger Dark-Horse Cases

Egypt was -200 to win Group G. Belgium was +225 and Iran +500. Egypt first and Belgium second was -120. Iran remains in the conversation, but the board gives Egypt and Belgium clearer routes.

There was never much doubt about Spain in Group H. At -1000 to finish first, it was a market with one clear favorite. Spain, first and Cape Verde, second, were priced at -130, which told its own story.

Cape Verde was -225 to make the Round of 32. Uruguay was +150. Saudi Arabia was +175. That does not put Cape Verde among the teams expected to win the World Cup. It does put them ahead of two established names in the race to survive the group.

France has been a leading outright choice throughout the tournament. Norway has created a credible group-stage challenge, which has given it a much stronger market profile.

Groups J through L and the title picture

Argentina, current World Champion and one of the biggest World Cup favorites, has clinched Group J. Austria was -3300 to qualify and Algeria -450. Their final match can settle placement, but Argentina`s knockout spot is not in doubt.

Colombia reached six points in Group K by beating DR Congo 1-0. Colombia has qualified and meets Portugal for first place. The winner controls the better group position and a key part of its knockout path.
